Veteran Musicians Could Have Done More for Their Successors – Mickey Lux

Ghanaian singer Mickey Lux has been making waves in the music industry, acknowledging the groundwork laid by veteran musicians while expressing his belief that more could have been done to nurture emerging talents. Though he appreciates the contributions of older artists, he feels they fell short in providing mentorship and support to the next generation.

In a conversation with Graphic Showbiz, Mickey reflected on the legacy of veteran musicians, stating, “Well, they have done their best, although I feel their best was not good enough. They could have done better.” He hopes current stars like Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Samini will take a more active role in uplifting upcoming artists through guidance and collaboration.

“When an era comes, older stars empower a new crop of artistes, and I hope the same for mine. That’s why I’m looking forward to Stonebwoy, who I admire greatly, to bless me sooner or later,” he added.

Born Michael Owusu Frimpong on June 3, 1999, Mickey Lux describes himself as a true creative—equally passionate about music and visual art. When not recording, he often immerses himself in drawing, a skill he has nurtured since childhood. “If I hadn’t become a musician, I’d be drawing professionally by now. I love art, and I always use any free time I get outside of music to draw,” he shared.

His musical journey began early, learning the keyboard at six and performing with the All Power Evangelistic Ministries choir by nine. With his brother’s encouragement, he mastered multiple instruments, setting the stage for his future career.
