Budding Ghanaian musician Mickey Lux has praised dancehall artist Stonebwoy, calling him the biggest inspiration for young acts in the music industry. In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Lux highlighted Stonebwoy’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a dominant force in Ghanaian music, emphasizing how his story motivates emerging talents.

Mickey Lux expressed his admiration for Stonebwoy’s consistency, leadership, and influence, stating that being mentored by him would be a dream come true. “Stonebwoy has shown us that with hard work, dedication, and a clear vision, we can achieve greatness in this industry,” he said. He particularly noted Stonebwoy’s ability to remain relevant over the years, citing his multiple Ghana Music Awards wins, including Artiste of the Year in 2015 and 2024.

While Lux has not yet reached out to Stonebwoy for mentorship, he explained that he is currently drawing inspiration from afar while building his own brand. “Right now, my team and I are focused on establishing me as an Afrobeat artist. When the time comes to transition into dancehall, that’s when I’ll make the move to connect with him,” he added.

Signed to BKC Music, Mickey Lux gained early attention after a viral video of Burna Boy praising his talent surfaced. Though he couldn’t verify the video’s authenticity, it significantly boosted his following and media engagements. His debut single, Aye, released in 2023, marked his entry into the industry, followed by tracks like Soja and Only You.

Despite the growing attention, Lux admits the pressure can be mentally challenging. However, he remains determined to carve his own path, inspired by Stonebwoy’s blueprint for success. His ambition and respect for industry veterans reflect the mindset of a young artist poised for growth in Ghana’s competitive music scene.
