Ghanaian Afro-fusion artist Gyakie has openly declared Omar Sterling, popularly known as Paedae of R2Bees, as her all-time favorite Ghanaian rapper. Speaking in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, she expressed deep admiration for Sterling’s lyrical prowess and storytelling abilities.

“My favorite rapper in Ghana now is Omar Sterling of R2Bees. He’s always been. Yes, he’s my all-time favorite Ghanaian rapper,” Gyakie stated. She went on to highlight Sterling’s poetic approach to rap, emphasizing his ability to craft relatable narratives. “Omar Sterling is a poet. His rap is always different. The storytelling—he shares stories about his life or things happening in real time, and the way he puts the lyrics together helps the listener understand what he is saying. That always makes me very happy. I think he’s a very good writer and storyteller.”

Though Gyakie is not a rapper herself, she revealed her appreciation for the genre and occasionally incorporates rap elements into her music. She also shared that her eclectic musical style is shaped by the diverse genres she grew up listening to.
