“I Don’t Enjoy Being An Artiste” – Amerado

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has candidly shared his mixed feelings about life as an artiste, admitting that his entry into the music industry was driven more by necessity than passion. During an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, the rapper revealed that his primary motivation was survival. “The main reason I got into music was to survive—I just wanted to eat,” he said. “Most of the time, I don’t even enjoy being an artiste.”

Amerado highlighted the challenges that come with fame, particularly the lack of personal freedom. He expressed frustration over the constant expectation to financially support fans, especially in public spaces like traffic stops. “I feel restricted,” he explained. “Whenever you’re in public, especially in traffic, you’re expected to hand out money to fans.”

Despite these struggles, the rapper acknowledged that performing on stage remains a rewarding aspect of his career. The connection with his audience and the energy of live performances provide moments of fulfillment. “The maintenance no be easy,” he added, emphasizing the relentless demands of sustaining a music career.

When asked about alternative career paths, Amerado revealed that football would have been his choice if music hadn’t worked out. His honesty sheds light on the often-glamorized world of entertainment, where financial pressures and public expectations can overshadow artistic passion. While he continues to navigate the industry, Amerado’s story serves as a reminder of the complex realities behind the spotlight.
