Cina Soul Gracefully Responds To Big Akwes' "Harsh" Comments

Cina Soul, a Ghanaian musician, has reacted to some derogatory comments made about her by Kumawood star Big Akwes.
On Monday, April 1, 2025, Big Akwes body-shamed the singer and criticized her attire in a dance video during an interview on Accra-based Max TV.
The singer was seen performing some dance steps to promote her “Did I Lie” album while wearing a crop top and loose-fitting pants.
Big Akwes, however, said during the performance that Cina Soul‘s attire did not match her brand. He continued by body-shaming her and disparaging the musician with some foul language.
Cina Soul bemoaned how she had spent money and effort promoting the record only to have her dress choice criticized in reaction to the comments on her X account.
“You see, o. This is why I choose who/where I interview. I spent so much of my own money to make and promote this album, and not a single word from any of them, but let Cina Soul wear some crop top and cargo pants for some dance content, and it sends them into a frenzy because “fiRST nO nA )nDreZi sei” (she didn’t dress like this at first). I just want to make music, bro,” she said.
Big Akwes’ offensive comments about Cina Soul have drawn criticism from many Ghanaians. Efya Odo, S3fa, Efya, and Ama Burland are among the celebrities who have resorted to social media to voice their displeasure with Big Akwes’ remarks. Some people have called on Big Akwes and Max TV to apologize to Cina Soul. Max TV apologized to the singer for the incident in a tweet on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
